Creating realistic and sustainable goals while providing patient-centered care. I enjoy utilizing motivational interviewing and educating. Oftentimes, I find using videos, handouts, and mnemonics fun and easy ways to teach nutrition education

What motivates you to help others achieve their nutritional goals and lead healthier lives?
I am personally motivated to help others because I love seeing the joy and happiness that comes with learning positive behaviors and enjoying food and nutrition. I am very passionate about nutrition and health that it makes me want to pass that along to others. Having good nutrition can lead to many positive health determinants and I want my patients to see those small or big victories.
What is your nutrition Philosophy?
I have been a dietitian for 3.5 years working in various roles- outpatient weight management and in Long Term Care. My favorite role was working in outpatient helping people achieve their health goals.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give someone who’s nervous to start their nutrition journey?
It can be daunting to start a new nutrition journey. I completely understand! We all have to start somewhere. I think my best piece of advice for someone staring out would be to just take the chance. You’ll meet with a great dietitian, learn new things, and see all types of wins and victories throughout your journey. That journey may not be linear, but it’s worth it!
