I think it’s important to meet people where they are and make small changes that better support long-term changes. I like to view myself and my clients as a team and I like clients to feel like they are in control of their diet changes and they are in the driver’s seat, while I support them during the process.

What motivates you to help others achieve their nutritional goals and lead healthier lives?
“I have experience working with all types of athletes such as youth, high school, collegiate, and Olympic level athletes. I have also gained experience working with individuals who have eating disorders, as well as working in a clinical setting working with medical conditions ranging from critically ill to newly diagnosed diabetes, heart disease, and kidney disease, etc.“
What is your nutrition Philosophy?
“I believe that nutrition is complicated because how food impacts individuals can vary greatly from person to person. Because of this, I don’t believe any one type of diet or any one way of eating that overcomplicates the process is necessary, so in a way it is simpler than people realize. Nutrition is about balance and learning how to eat in a way that makes you feel energized and good about yourself. There is no good or bad food, but instead there are different types of foods that have different functions and nutrients. Learning how to eat foods that support your body and energy needs, while also enjoying the taste and the experience is important to sustaining any type of lifestyle change. Nutrition is personal. It brings people together and it should be celebrated instead of feared.“
What’s one piece of advice you’d give someone who’s nervous to start their nutrition journey?
“Growing up I played multiple sports and was a competitive athlete, but I didn’t always know how to eat or how to prepare foods. I lived off of a lot of freezer meals and easy to prepare foods. I wanted to learn how to properly fuel my body and also maintain my health as I get older. Through studying nutrition and also researching on my own, I was able to overcome a lot of these barriers and learn basic skills that allowed me to be more comfortable preparing meals at home and I hope I can help others who are struggling with similar issues.”
