Rachel

I’ve been working with Klasik Nutrition for about two months now. Before I started, my main concern was having a healthier and more balanced relationship with food. What ultimately motivated me to take action and seek nutrition counseling was that I was binge eating more frequently and couldn’t lose the last few pounds I had gained during COVID.

Since beginning this journey, nutrition counseling has helped me make meaningful progress through those struggles. My RD, Justine, helped me to look at food as nourishment for my body and to focus on more variety and eating more healthy fats and whole grains. Justine’s holistic approach helped me to see that I was not eating enough on certain days, which led to my body and mind feeling deprived and then ultimately to binge eating. I was hesitant to eat more as I thought I’d gain, not lose, weight, but I followed her advice and was thrilled to find Justine was correct. As I started to add in more variety and healthy options, I felt more satisfied, stopped binging, and actually lost the weight I had struggled to lose for the last two years.

There have also been some unexpected benefits. With Justine’s help, I am moving away from obsessively tracking calories and am now using the hunger/fullness scale to tune into my body and what it needs as far as nutrition and fuel. It is amazing to see my growth in this area. I am also thrilled that I can enjoy a regular portion of a dessert and not have it lead to a binge. That is probably the biggest surprise and gift of all.

I think I’ve covered the biggest improvements in my other answers, but I’d just like to add a huge thank you to Justine, Sam, and Lauren. I am in my early 60s and have obsessed about food for nearly all my life. I was skeptical that this approach could work after trying so many other things. I am so glad I tried and am grateful for the peace of mind and confidence I have in my new relationship with food. It has created space in my heart and mind to focus on my greater well-being and the well-being of my loved ones. Thank you!
